General Counsel and Director of Project Finance
Donald Miller focuses on commercial transactions, solar project financing, and general corporate legal matters. Previously he served as General Counsel Americas for Conergy, where he established the region’s legal department. There he directed the region’s legal restructuring, managed corporate governance matters, managed litigation, and drafted and negotiated EPC agreements, lease agreements, supply contracts, and other solar-related agreements. He also served on both active and reserve duty in the U.S. Army, Military Intelligence branch, first as a Russian linguist and then as a Military Intelligence officer. Mr. Miller earned a J.D., with honors, from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, an M.B.A. (Finance concentration) from Golden Gate University, and a B.A. from John Carroll University. He is a member of the State Bar of California and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
Director of Engineering and Construction
Thomas Houghton is responsible for the engineering roll-out of PV projects, leveraging his practical experience in the selection of reliable components and in optimizing designs, from both the technical and economical perspectives. He manages Enerparc’s technology portfolio and directs all planning and technical compliance activities for commercial solar facilities. Mr. Houghton started his career in solar in 2006 and is a true believer in the environmental principles upon which solar was founded. This motivated him to create his own residential and commercial solar installation and engineering company, which he ran from 2006 to 2010. In 2010 he joined Trina Solar and took leadership roles in technical services, product management, project development, and strategic business development. He holds a California General Engineering Class A contractor license. His background is in mechanical engineering studied at the University of California, Davis.
Director of Finance
Nikolaus Mainka is responsible for controlling, accounting and treasury, as well as for implementation of and compliance with corporate global processes and standards. Previously Mr. Mainka managed global project controlling and the setup of the corporate finance structure and financial reporting within the Enerparc Group. He joined Enerparc AG in Hamburg, Germany during its start-up phase as one of its first employees and was actively involved in establishing its commercial and operational infrastructure and in defining group standards. Mr. Mainka studied in Germany and Belgium and earned an M.B.A. (Dipl.-Kaufm.) with honors from the University of Regensburg, Germany.
Associate Director of Project Development
Peter Davis is responsible for Enerparc’s project development in the North America region. Mr. Davis brings more than six years of international solar energy industry expertise, which he developed in Asia, Europe, and North America. Prior to joining to Enerparc, he was PV Project Development Manager for Trina Solar’s Europe and North America divisions, where he was responsible for project evaluation, planning, development, technical due diligence support, and coordinating with grid operators , utilities, and other involved stakeholders in Europe and North America. Before that he was Investor Relations Analyst at Trina Solar’s headquarters in China. He holds a B.S. degree in International Business/Management Information Systems from Iowa State University.
